HyEnergy Consultancy and HIVE Hydrogen providing Hydrogen Expertise to Irish Government Departments

Our partners HIVE Hydrogen and HyEnergy Consultancy Limited were selected to provide support to two Irish departments over the last 12 months.

The work includes the development of two reports, respectively led by Cian Moran and Josh Williamson:
– Sectoral Analysis of Future H2 Demand and End-Use in Ireland assessment for the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment (DETE);
– Preliminary/Outline Business Cases for two Green Hydrogen Refuelling Stations along the Eastern Transport Corridor running from Dublin to Belfast for the Department of Transport (Ireland) and Department for Infrastructure (Northern Ireland).
Both projects have now been completed, and the government is digesting their contents.

Ian Williamson, Director of HyEnergy, presented DETE’s sectoral demand analysis study to the Irish Government’s Hydrogen Taskforce (HT) at its last meeting in late March, also attended by Timmy Dooley, Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment. The study is expected to be published during Ireland’s presidency of the EU, with the associated hydrogen refuelling infrastructure business cases also anticipated to be presented to the Taskforce at a future meeting.

In June 2026, Ian Williamson represented SH2AMROCK at the H2SK FORUM 2026 in Košice, Slovakia, showcasing how SH2AMROCK is advancing the hydrogen economy through regional collaboration, innovation, and practical implementation and sharing valuable insights, including stakeholder coordination, governance structures, and financing mechanisms, during the session dedicated to Hydrogen Valleys.
